Developmental (DSquad)
AJRA’s developmental squads are focused on teaching the basics of rowing sport, learning to be a part of the AJRA family, and providing basic conditioning. Developmental rowers focus on land-based training and general rowing knowledge, then progress to being on the water.
Middle school rowers are eligible for any of our DSquad rowing program, regardless of experience. We offer two Weekday programs and a Saturday-only program. All DSquad rowers should be enrolled in 7th or 8th grade during the season they are rowing.

FALL SEASON 2026
PRACTICE
DATES: September 8th - November 14th, 2026
LOCATION: AJRA Boathouse, 245 Azalea Drive, Roswell, GA 30075
PREREQUISITES: No previous rowing experience is necessary.
COST: $690 (D-Squad Weekday) | $460 (D-Squad Saturday)
2026 FALL SEASON SCHEDULE
For the fall season, we will have two Weekday DSquad groups, each practicing three times a week.
Starting the week of September 8th:

Red Squad: Practices on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons.

Blue Squad: Practices on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons.

Saturday DSquad: Practices held Saturday mornings.
SQUAD
Red Squad:
Mon, Tue, Wed: 5 pm - 7 pm
Blue Squad:
Tue, Wed, Thur: 5 pm - 7 pm
Saturday Squad:
Sat: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
The season will end with an exhibition event at the AJRA Boathouse, open to friends and family for
the Weekday D-Squads and Rec Team (Saturday D-Squad will not be included in the exhibition).
Note: Zeffy is for payment only — your athlete is not registered until the SportsEngine registration is complete.

TRAVEL
Weekday DSquad will have the opportunity to earn a seat in select boats racing at The Music City Head Race this Fall, October 30th and 31th, 2026 in Nashville, TN. Saturday DSquad does not travel.
