AJRA’s U19, U17, and Novice crews delivered a record-setting fall finish with a commanding showing in Chattanooga.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Atlanta Junior Rowing Association (AJRA) delivered another impressive team performance at the 2025 Head of the Hooch Regatta, earning 3rd Place Overall Team Points for both the Men’s and Women’s programs at one of the largest and most competitive regattas in the United States.
With thousands of athletes, hundreds of entries, and more than 120 youth teams from across the country, the Head of the Hooch stands as one of the premier events of the fall racing season — and AJRA met the moment with strong results from start to finish.
Among the regatta highlights, AJRA’s Men’s Varsity U19 8+ crews delivered outstanding performances, with the 1V finishing 3rd overall, and the 2V earning an all-time club record with a 7th-place finish out of 93 boats. On the women’s side, the Women’s Varsity U19 8+ crews showed exceptional depth and speed, with the 1V placing 5th and the 2V close behind in 6th out of 75 boats.
AJRA’s strength extended across multiple events, with strong performances throughout the roster. The program’s balance and depth were on full display, as varsity boats continued to compete among the nation’s best while novice and U17 athletes showcased the next wave of AJRA talent.
