AJRA captures regional titles across multiple events while securing a strong contingent of boats — and 50 athletes — for the 2026 USRowing Youth National Championships.
Sarasota, FL - The Atlanta Junior Rowing Association (AJRA) delivered a championship-caliber weekend at the USRowing Youth Southeast Championships, capturing regional titles and securing multiple qualification spots for the 2026 USRowing Youth National Championships. In total, 50 AJRA athletes qualified for the national stage, marking a major milestone in the program’s spring racing season.
Competing against top programs from across the Southeast, AJRA athletes rose to the occasion across multiple events, with several boats finishing at the top of their fields and earning advancement to the national stage.
Leading the charge, the Men’s 1V 8+ captured gold dominating the race from the start to earn the title of regional champion for the first time in club history, while the Women’s 1V 8+ earned a strong third-place finish, with both boats securing qualification to Youth Nationals. The Women’s 2V 8+ added another regional title with a dominant first-place finish, continuing AJRA’s success across the women’s program.
On the men’s side, depth proved critical once again, with both the Men’s 2V A 8+ and Men’s U17 4+ earning gold and automatic qualification. The Men’s 2V B 8+ delivered one of the weekend’s most compelling performances, moving up a competitive class and rising to the occasion with a fourth-place finish to secure a ticket to Nationals, further underscoring the remarkable depth and adaptability of the AJRA lineup.
The results reflect the continued strength of AJRA’s training system, where speed and competitiveness extend well beyond the top boats. From varsity lineups to U17 crews, the program demonstrated its ability to perform under pressure at one of the most important regattas of the season.
With multiple boats now advancing to USRowing Youth Nationals, AJRA turns its focus toward preparing for the national stage and continuing the momentum built throughout the spring.
