Crew Line Now Working!

Technical problems with the AJRA Crew Line have been fixed so call (404) 365-2400 for any questions about practice cancellations because of weather.  The message is updated no later than 3:30 pm only on those days when practice is canceled.
DO NOT LEAVE ANY MESSAGES.  THE VOICE MAIL BOX IS NOT CHECKED, AND A FULL BOX CAUSES THE CREW LINE TO DEFAULT TO A BUSY SIGNAL ONLY.
There also was a technical glitch with the team directory published under the Important Info tab of the website to assist parents looking for a carpool.  The Spring directory is expected to be available later today.  This information is password protected using the password provided to parents at the Parent Registration Meeting in Jan.

Parent Social Set for Sun., Feb. 24

Instead of watching the Red Carpet coverage of the Academy Awards, come to the AJRA Parent Social! The TV networks will be showing the best & worst dressed for days after the Oscars, but this is your ONLY chance to attend our Spring 2013 Parent Social.

All parents (no rowers) are invited to come to Roswell River Landing, next to the boathouse, between 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24.  We’ll provide drinks, but please bring either an appetizer, salad or dessert to share. In addition to the yummy nibbles, this is a great opportunity to talk with coaches or meet other AJRA parents that will be standing along the water’s edge with you.

For many, this is an evening with old friends.  But for Novice Parents or those new to AJRA, it’s the perfect night to learn more about the club and upcoming season.  Hope to see you there!

All AJRA Varsity and Novice rowers and parents are invited to attend a brief information session about college rowing on Wed., Feb. 20 at 7pm at Roswell River Landing.  After general introductory remarks, separate meetings will be held for men and women to address the different recruiting opportunities, process, and timelines.  Varsity coaches will review athletic standards college coaches are looking for, and several rowers and parents who have recently been through recruitment will be on hand to answer questions about their experience.  Don’t miss this informative event if you are interested in learning about college rowing!

Annual Banquet for Varsity/Novice Is Now May 12

February 6th, 2013 Posted by Club News, Competitive Squads 0 thoughts on “Annual Banquet for Varsity/Novice Is Now May 12”

The annual end-of-year banquet for Varsity and Novice squads has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 12.  This change was made because of numerous conflicts with the original date of May 19, including several high school and college graduations and events.  While May 12 is also Mother’s Day, many rowing Moms are accustomed to spending the holiday at a regatta as SE Regionals was usually held on Mother’s Day until this past year.  In addition, the board hoped that by notifying families well in advance, they would be able to plan family events and traditions around AJRA’s Sunday evening banquet.

All spring Varsity and Novice rowers and parents will receive an invitation to the banquet, which will be held at the Windward Marriott Alpharetta.  Registration will be 5:30-6pm with dinner and awards presentations from 6-9pm.

The AJRA banquet is always a very special event and celebration.  Be sure to mark your calendar now so you can attend!
